Valentine's Day Interview with Vindicator Farms

Feb 8th, 2024

As a special treat for Valentine's Day, we wanted to showcase some of our business owners who live, love, and work together. Owning a small business is no simple feat, and these business owners decided to take on the challenge as a couple.

Peter and Susan Jones own and operate Vindicator Farm in Viola, Wisconsin.

How long have you been together?  Almost 26 years Where did you meet? At Peter's brothers first wedding

How long have you owned this business? 9 yrs  What did you do before? I was a QA Manager in different industries, and Pete farmed and was a Loan Officer

How do you typically divide work duties? They split along traditional male/female duties, he has all the experience with machinery, crops, etc., due to farming previously.  I do help with the physical work and provide all the marketing/computer and delivery duties

Coolest part of working together: Since we are able to work together each day, we are working toward the same goals, dreams and accomplishments on a daily basis, fully united.

Worst part of working together: Being married😁 , the marriage dynamic can come into play.

Susan says it like it is! Seems like honest communication is an essential part of living, loving, and owning a business together.

You can shop their beef, pork, chicken, and lamb on Market Wagon in the Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago market.
