Valentine's Day Interview with Paul and Renee of Vibe Aroma

Feb 8th, 2024

As a special treat for Valentine's Day, we wanted to showcase some of our business owners who live, love, and work together. Owning a small business is no simple feat, and these business owners decided to take on the challenge as a couple.

Paul and Renee Donohue own and operate Twin Flame Lavender Farm in Western Michigan. They were living in Las Vegas when they decided to quit the city life to pursue a slower lifestyle on an 8 acre farm in Allegan, MI.

How long have you been together? Where did you meet?
Our worlds collided in 2014. We were working in the same business industry and had a professional relationship. One day in 2014, it all came together!

How long been farming and what did you do before?

We have been farming since 2019. Previously Renee owned a real estate brokerage and Paul a home inspection business in Las Vegas. Renee was a hobby soap maker prior to moving to Michigan and starting the farm.

How do you typically divide work duties?

Paul is retired Navy and the engineer behind the farm. Renee does product development and marketing.

Coolest part of working together:

We get to work with the person we admire most in the world!

Worst part of working together:

Uneven work loads may cause stress at times.

You can shop their handmade and homegrown lavender products on Market Wagon in West Michigan, or plan a visit this summer!
