About
Wood Farms, established in 1999 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is owned and operated by Dennis and Kristen Wood. Our son Matthew is a full-time employee of the farm and our son Daniel operates a pork enterprise on our farms. Wood Farms operates a robust certified organic hay enterprise, producing nutrient-dense forages for organic dairies in the eastern United States. Our Angus beef cattle operation consists of 350 mother cows residing on 1400 acres of certified organic pastures. When the calves are weaned, they are moved to “grower pastures” and then finished on wholesome grains. Our animal husbandry practices focus on providing a healthy environment, outdoors in fresh air. Our son Daniel operates a Berkshire pork enterprise at our Fort Wayne farmstead. Wood Farms Angus beef and Berkshire pork are butchered and distributed to Indiana’s finest chefs and restaurants, as well as discriminating consumers through two butcher shops: Wood Farms Premium Meats in Fort Wayne and Turchetti’s Salumeria in Indianapolis. We strive to support and be a part of an agricultural system that is ecological, diverse, resilient, adaptive and regenerative. We are dedicated to fairness throughout the food supply chain and supporting the vitality of local economies.
